About Risk Retention Groups
National Independent Truckers Insurance Company (NITIC) is a Risk Retention Group (RRG) — a special type of liability insurance company formed under the Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986. As an RRG, NITIC is owned by and insures its members, providing commercial trucking liability insurance directly. NITIC is not an insurance agency or broker — we are the insurer.
